Scripture Challenge - Protection

I was able to get 2 pages done today...a layout for Cathy and my next Scripture challenge layout. Since I just finished Cathy's layout a few minutes ago, I'll have to wait until tomorrow to share it with you so I can get a good picture of it outside. For now, here's the Scripture challenge one...

I really love this verse!! What better feeling could we possibly have than knowing our precious Lord is watching over us all the time? There's nothing that could make me feel more safe than that... :)

Scripture Challenge - Listen

I did my next Scripture challenge layout today. This word is so important! We have to open up our ears...and our hearts...to hear what the Lord is telling us everyday. We may not always realize at first that He's actually telling us something, but if we pay close attention and catch those moments, we will be even more blessed. That's a great feeling, isn't it?? :)

*Inspired by Shanna Vineyard's "Lucky Me Grateful" journal seen here

I did more sewing on this layout and it was great! It's so much fun trying something new and actually having it work out the way you want it to. My next try will be on a 12x12 page...wish me luck, lol! ;)

Scripture Challenge - Live

I got another layout for my Scripture challenge done on Saturday night. I had so much fun with it!! My totally AWESOME sister bought me a sewing machine a few months ago and I've wanted to try using it on some paper, so I did and I really love how it looks! It adds such a nice touch to the page...

When I was looking for a verse for the word live, I read this one and knew it was a perfect fit. Christ lives IN ME! Isn't that just amazing to know?? :)

Catch me if you can!

Ok, here's the layout I did for myself with the same paper I used on Cathy's layout below, but it's a totally different look. I love how much you can change things up by tearing papers or cutting them...

This picture is of the girls running home from the bus stop. It's so funny that they always race to the house and try to catch each other on the way, lol! A perfect memory to scrap, right? :)

My Dadee & Me

I got another layout for Cathy's album done over the weekend. This is her hubby Adam and their youngest daughter Abbey, sharing some hugs and kisses. Are they cute or what?? :)

*Based on a May 2007 sketch at Page Maps

The patterned paper I used is from the SEI Dill Blossom collection, which I just ADORE. It's the pack I told you about before that I liked so much, I bought one for Cathy and another one for myself. ;) I actually did a layout with the same paper that day for me too, lol! I'll be posting that one next...

Sick day layouts...

I've been sick all day...well, actually since yesterday, ugh. What better way is there to pass the time when you feel like crap (and can't sleep because of your crazy 3 year old, lol!), than by scrapping, right? :) So, here's what I accomplished today...

The first page is one I actually started a couple of weeks ago. I had the rectangle shape all cut out and stitched on and then I totally blanked on what to do next, so I put it away. I took it out today and decided to use these 2 pictures of the girls having some snuggle time last December, and I think it turned out great!

This next page has pictures from the 4th of July last year on it. Are you asking yourself where all of the red, white & blue is?? ;) Well, since we just played together all day and didn't go see fireworks or really do anything holiday related, I didn't want to use the normal colors. I decided instead to focus on the background of the pics and use those tones instead. I think it works since we kind of pop off the page a little more...since we actually WERE dressed for the 4th, lol!!

The last page is my beautiful girls, once again posing for some pics for their camera crazy mommy. I love how they are always so willing to do that for me! All I have to do is tell them to "say cheese!!" and they're both all grins. :) I did some hand stitching along the left side of this one and I am realllly happy with how it turned out. I think it fits the feel of the layout perfectly!

So that's it for today. Well, I actually made a card too but I'll share that with you later...I'm beat! I'm gonna try to rest a little before dinner since both girls are quiet and happy...yay! Thanks for looking...

Backyard Fun

I got another layout done for Cathy this morning. These are some pics of her family just hanging out in the backyard last fall...

I love the design of this. I've used it a couple of different ways now, and I think it works great for 4 pictures!

Scripture Challenge - Grace

Here's the second layout I did last night. The message on this one is truly amazing to me...knowing that I am lucky enough to be saved through God's grace. I am so blessed!!

I really loooooove how this one turned out. The colors are just awesome and it seemed to all fit so perfectly together. This is definitely one of my favorites so far. :)

Scripture Challenge - Prayer

I got a couple more Scripture challenge layouts done last night. Here's the first one...

I kept it really simple because I had alot I wanted to say for the journaling and didn't want to take away from that. Prayer is so important to me and remembering that God ALWAYS answers our prayers is a must! His answers may not always seem like what they should be to us, but they are always right and what we need at that time...

Scripture Challenge - Cover Page

I got the cover page for my Scripture challenge album done last night...

For the title part, I used rub-ons at first, but I was SO unhappy with how they looked, so I took some Tim Holtz ink (Tea Dye) and inked all over the paper to blend them into the background for a better look. Well, I loved the color it made the paper but was still unhappy with the rub-ons. I tried taking them off with some tape (a very handy trick if you ever need to remove some), but they were reallllly stuck, so I decided to make a title block to cover them. It worked great!

I added a butterfly that I cut out of a piece of patterned paper and attached it with some pop-dots. I drew a flight path from the flower, sewed over it with some brown thread and then also used the same thread to attach the title block...

So, when I started, I never expected this page to look how it does, but I really love it!! How funny is that? :)

Scripture Challenge - Trust

Here's the second layout for the Scripture challenge I did today...

This one really got to me. I'm a big worrier so trusting the Lord with everything has been tough for me, but it's been a wonderful journey and definitely worth it! I know now that He really does have a plan for us all and we just have to be willing to let Him show us the way...

Scripture Challenge - Glad

I did a couple more layouts for the Scripture challenge today. Here is the first one...

I really love what this verse says. It reminds me to be thankful for each and every beautiful day the Lord gives me! :)

Scripture Challenge - Peace

I got one more of these done today so I wanted to share it too...

This verse is just amazing. It's as if I can hear the Lord telling me these words and I know how true they are! HE is my peace...my comforter...my protector...my caretaker...and He loves me more than anything. What could ever give me a more peaceful feeling than knowing all of that?? :)

My little scrapper!

I did a layout about Emily today. She had to do a project for school and from the choices of the way to display it (written report, poster, scrapbook, etc.), guess which she chose?? A scrapbook, of course!! :)

*Based on sketch #45 at Triple The Sketch

She had a ton of fun making it and she did a really good job! She's done a few pages since then on her own and I'm saving them so that when she gets enough, I can make her an album with them in it. I'm so glad my baby will carry on my hobby! I'm a very proud mama. ;)

Little Flower

I did a layout of Madison today that I'd like to share. My wonderful friend Peggy gave me a little challenge to use some stitching and handmade embellishments on a page, so decided to take her up on it! I tried not to think too hard while making the layout, but instead to just let my creative side take over a little more than usual.
I love the result!!

I did some stitching around the edges of the papers and also on the picture/mat. I really like the look it gives. Oh, and the embellishments that I made were the brown flower and the stem/leaves. It was so much fun! Totally not something I would usually do but definitely something I'll be doing again. Who knew? :)

Isn't she "lovely"?? ;)

I got another layout for Cathy's album done this morning. This picture is her daughter Hannah having some fun swinging...

Cathy told me she wanted the title for this one to be "Lovely", so that's where I got the play on words, hehe. I'm in a weird mood today so I'm just amusing myself...feel free to ignore me, LOL!! ;)

Field Trip

Here's another layout for Cathy that I did last night. Isn't this just the cutest picture?? :) They all went on a little field trip together and Cathy took this picture of Adam with the kids...

I really loved how this paper (SEI) pulled out all of the colors in the picture! The only time I faltered during this one was when I went to make the title. I realized I didn't have enough chipboard letters to do it, ack!! I tried a rub-on, but it looked AWFUL, so I took a strip of paper and cut it into tiny 1/4" pieces, stamped the letters on them, inked the sides, put them back together and then attached them with some pop dots. I LOVE how it looks! :) If you click on the picture, you can see it much better...

It's so much fun to find a new way to do something...especially when you're desperate for an idea, lol!!

When you walk...

I did another page for my sweet friend Cathy (my sis-in-law) today. I went to Michael's last night and picked up a paper pack for some of her pages and am soooo in LOVE with it. So I bought one for me too, LOL!! ;) It's made by SEI and is called Dill Blossom. The colors are just gorgeous!! This may be my new favorite line along with Basic Grey...

I really love this picture. It's my hubby's brother Adam and his middle daughter Hannah taking a walk together. Isn't it just the sweetest thing?!? I was trying to decide what to put with the picture and when I came across this Bible verse, I thought it fit perfectly...

"I guide you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths. When you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble."
- Proverbs 4:11-12

Adam is guiding Hannah, not only as they walk, but also as she goes through life, and God does the same thing for all of us. Pretty awesome, huh? :)

Scripture Challenge - Beauty

I did another word for the Scripture challenge this morning. Beauty is the word for this one and it took me a while to decide which verse to use for it. There are alot that I thought would fit the word just fine, but the one I chose just feels perfect to me...

On the back: Isn't that amazing?? :) These days, it seems as if the world only sees the beauty on the outside, when what really matters is the beauty within someone...in their souls and their hearts. God can see that beauty if it's there, and we should glorify Him by letting others see it as well.

Scripture Challenge - Kindness

I got week 2's layout done today too. The word for it is Kindness...

I just LOVE this verse! It really makes you remember to "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" doesn't it?? :)

Scripture Challenge - Faith

Ok, so I've decided to redo my Scripture Challenge cards into layouts. I was using flash cards and really loving how they were turning out, but came to realize (after doing 7 weeks, lol!) that I wasn't really going to have a way to display them once I was done with 52. So I'm doing 6x6 layouts instead. I got a great deal at http://www.joann.com/ on an American Crafts album and some additional page protectors for it. I really think it'll work great!!

I started on them this morning and got the first one done just a few minutes ago. The word is Faith for this one...

I really love it!! I used one of my favorite verses again (as you can tell by now, I have a ton of those, lol!) and I definitely think it fits the word perfectly...
