Bahamas Album - PL Style

Good morning everyone!  Today I'd like to share with you a few pages from a trip to the Bahamas that my hubby and I took in 2011 through his job.  I've wanted to scrap the pictures for a long time now but had SO much trouble deciding how to go about it.  A few months ago I bought a SNAP album and some inserts to try but after starting work on editing the pics, I knew there was no way I could condense them down that much.  My solution?  Project Life!

I recently bought a 12x12 PL album and inserts to start over on our yearly PL (I was originally doing a smaller size but it wasn't working for me) but decided to turn the album into a vacation album instead.  I'm SO glad that I went with the idea because the pages are working out perfectly!!  It's sooooooo quick and easy to get them done this way, especially since my amazing friend Suzanne walked me through the process of creating 3x4 pics over at PicMonkey. ;) I'm over halfway done with the trip now and I've scrapped around 70 pictures so far which is very cool!

Here are the first few pages I did...

Supplies: Studio Calico Valley High Project Life Kit (Cards); Becky Higgins Jade Project Life Cards; Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Walnut Stain; Studio Calico Mister Huey - Classic Calico; Ali Edwards Stamps - Handwritten; Studio Calico Spencer's PL Kit (Stamps); Studio Calico Roller Date Stamp; Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher; Amy Tangerine Stitching Template; DMC Floss #3853; Sequins; Washi Tape; Traveling_Typewriter Font

Supplies: Authentique Seasons: Summer 6x6 Pad; Authentique Seasons: Summer Collection - Summer Two, Enhancements; Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Walnut Stain; Studio Calico Mister Huey - Dark Calico; Ali Edwards Stamps - Life In Pictures; Studio Calico Salvaged Kit (Linen Background Stamp); Lawn Fawn Stamps - Bon Voyage; Fiskars Flit-On-By Butterfly Punch; Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher; Heidi Swapp Ghost Heart; Amy Tangerine Stitching Template; DMC Floss #3822; Traveling_Typewriter Font

Getting this album done is making me SO happy!  I'm completely in love with the Project Life system now and can't wait to get started on our weekly spreads.  If any of you haven't checked it out or have been thinking about it but aren't sure whether you should go for it, you definitely should because it seriously rocks. ;) Thanks for stopping by!

Make sure you pop over to Heather's blog to see what the other Miracles Momma Designs DT ladies did with this awesome sketch...you'll be inspired for sure!  Also, if you create something using it, be sure to link it up so we can check it out. ;) Thanks for taking the time to stop by today!

Sketches In Thyme #87

Hi there! I have a new sketch from Sketches In Thyme to show you today, and this one is really fun! Just think of the different patterned papers (or WASHI!!) you can use...

Supplies: Authentique Fresh Collection - Crisp, Clean; Authentique Celebrate Collection - Enjoyment; Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Walnut Stain, Black Soot; Tim Holtz Distress Marker - Black Soot; Studio Calico Mister Huey - Inky Black, Overdue; Ali Edwards Stamp Set - Family Circle; Fiskars Twinkle Twinkle Punch; Martha Stewart Circle Cutter; Studio Calico Wood Veneer Stars; My Mind's Eye Celebrate Brads
*I'd like to say a HUGE thank you to my sweet friend Sandi for gifting me with the floral paper (Enjoyment) I used here...it was just perfect!

For my page I decided to use this very special picture from 1999. My oldest daughter was just 11 days old and we had gone to my Aunt Cindy's house for a Christmas celebration with my family. She took this shot of us right when we walked in. We were all SO tired, I was still swollen from my pregnancy and had on NO make-up, my hubby was wearing a crazy wrestling shirt...but none of that matters one bit. It's one of the first family pictures of us that we have and I absolutely adore it. I remember how happy we were to finally have that sweet baby girl in our lives and we were so in love with her! It was a very happy time in our lives and I'm thankful to finally have it in my scrapbooks...

So what do you think of the sketch? If you love and want to try using it yourself, we'd love to see what you create! Once you've got your project made, be sure to link it up at the Sketches In Thyme blog by the 31st to be entered for a fun prize. ;) Thanks so much for stopping by today!

MMD Sketch #22

Good morning everyone! Today I have a new sketch from Miracles Momma Designs to share with you all, and this week Heather has created an awesome two pager! I don't do many two pagers myself, so instead I used the right side of the sketch as the inspiration for this layout I created about a wonderful Mother's Day dinner with my mom and sisters...

Supplies: Authentique Lively Collection - Spirited, Bright, Flutter; Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Walnut Stain; Tim Holtz Distress Marker - Walnut Stain; Studio Calico Mister Huey - White; Ali Edwards Stamp Set - Give Thanks; AC/Dear Lizzy Neapolitan Roller Date Stamp; Studio Calico Wood Veneers - Potty People; Martha Stewart Large Circle Cutter; Fiskars Nice Tri Punch; Fiskars Flit On By Punch; i-Rock; i-Rock Clear Gems; Basic Grey Buttons; You Won't Bring Me Down Font

Isn't that awesome?? I really love how it all came together! Now if you've been here a few times before, you may be thinking to yourself that you've already seen these pictures multiple times, and you'd be absolutely right! This is the third time I've scrapped them, lol...once for myself, once for my younger sister, and this latest one is for my mom. You'll see them once more some day soon since my older sister wants a layout also...just giving you a warning upfront. ;)

Please take a minute and head over to Heather's blog post for today and see what some of the other design team member's created...you'll be inspired for sure! Also, you'll have to excuse my slight obsession with the Potty People Wood Veneers from Studio Calico...I loooooooooooove them and I can't seem to stop using them lately, lol! I'm sure it's just one of those phases we all go through as crafters though, so I hope you don't get sick of seeing them before I move on to something else. :) Thanks for stopping by!

That third layout...

Hello again! This is my second post for the day so if you came looking for my altered notebook, please see the post below. ;) I wanted to share the third layout I did using the awesome sketch posted over at the Authentique blog that I posted about yesterday. This one is definitely my favorite!

Supplies: Authentique Journey Paper - Promenade & Jaunt; My Mind's Eye Bohemia Bluebird "All Boy" Paper - Blue; American Crafts Cream Cardstock; Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Walnut Stain; Colorbox Chalk Ink - Chestnut Roan; Studio G Stamp; Papertrey Ink Stamp Set - Happy Trails; Fiskars Upper Crest Border Punch; Martha Stewart Butterfly Punches; I-Rock; I-Rock Clear Gems

I am soooooo loving the way this turned out. So much so that I kind of wish it was for me, lol! I'm making an album for my mother-in law (shhhh, it's a secret...thankfully she doesn't read my blog!) full of layouts about each of her three kids and their families. This page will be either the first page in the album or the last one...I haven't decided yet. She is such an amazing grandmother and absolutely LOVES her grandbabies. It's tough on her too because she lives in Texas and they are spread out from Washington to NC. I'm making this album for her so that when she's missing us all, she can look through it and hopefully feel a little closer to us. :)

Anyway, sorry that turned into a book! I'm very chatty today so you can feel free to ignore me, lol. I'll be back tomorrow with a new card for sassy Lil' Sketches so see you then!

A couple of new layouts...

I did some scrapping yesterday with this amazing sketch that was posted over on the Authentique blog on Saturday and I absolutely LOVE my layouts!! I made two of them (and I'm actually working on a third one!) and just switched it up a little bit to make them look different...

Supplies: Authentique Journey Paper - Promenade & Jaunt; My Mind's Eye Bohemia Bluebird "All Boy" Paper - Blue; American Crafts Cream Cardstock; Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Walnut Stain; Fiskars Upper Crest Border Punch; Fiskars Butterfly Punch; Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch; I-Rock; I-Rock Clear Gems; American Crafts Lullaby Thickers

Supplies: Authentique Blissful Paper - Happiness & Felicity; WRMK Grandma's Kitchen Paper - Pinwheel; Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Scattered Straw; Colorbox Chalk Ink - Chestnut Roan; Craft Smart Ink - Chocolate Brown; Ali Edwards Stamp Set - It's In The Details; Martha Stewart Circle Cutter; I-Rock; Jolee's Hotfix Jewels

I had so much fun! I kept both pages very simple in order to let the pictures be the star and I think they look fabulous. The third layout I'm working on looks very similar to the first one here, but it's not for me, so that's totally ok! ;)

I also made up some more Christmas cards...yay! I'll be sure to post those asap. :) Thanks for stopping by today!

You're Too Kind (Artful Delight)

I had a little bit of time to create the other day and took advantage of it by making a card with the August kit from Artful Delight! I think it turned out really lovely...

My Sweet Mom (Artful Delight)

It's a new month so it's time to share a layout I made using the August kit from Artful Delight with you! I absolutely LOVE the papers in this kit and couldn't wait to get creating with them. One of the sheets was perfect to scrap this picture of my sweet mom and I at my cousin's wedding last year...

Supplies Used From The Artful Delight August Kit: Authentique Journey "Promenade" Paper; Glitz Vintage Blue "Motif" Paper; Bazzill Cardstock - Carribean Breeze; Kraft Outlet Vintage Dictionary Page
Other Supplies Used: Colorbox Chalk Ink - Chestnut Roan; Craft Smart Ink - Chocolate Brown; Ali Edwards Stamp Set - Loving Words; Fiskars Butterfly Punch; Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch; I-Rock; I-Rock Clear Gems; Bazzill Flower; Prima Flower

Isn't that just SO pretty?? I love it!! One of my favorite parts is the center of the flower. I kept trying different buttons there and nothing looked right, so I pulled out my I-Rock and made my own center with some bling. It worked perfectly!

I took inspiration for my layout from the the August sketch at Artful Delight that fellow DT member Debbie created...

It's a great one! If you want to try your hand at creating something with the sketch, you'll be entered in the drawing to win the September kit for FREE! How awesome would that be? ;) You have until 8/23 to link up your project. Also, if you are totally loving this kit (like me!), make sure you grab one up quick because I'm thinking these will go fast...
