My sweet girl...

I finally had the chance to do some scrapping today and wow have I missed it! My Scrappin-n-Chattin group is having another 24 hour challenge this weekend and as the hostess, I figured I should participate. ;) The ladies in the group chose the sketch and papers I would work with. I'm so happy with their choices and I adore the finished page...

I can't believe that this picture is 8 years old! My sweet girl was only 2 at the time. It's crazy how fast time goes by, isn't it? Make sure you hug your babies...they grow up faster than you know!

Thanks so much for looking...have an awesome day and a great Memorial Day weekend! :)

Hide & Seek

Ok, I have to say that I'm very proud of myself right now. Why do you ask? Because I recently got a new paper pad which has Cosmo Cricket's Girl Friday in it, and I actually USED some of it today! I've been wanting some of this paper for MONTHS now, but it's too much for me by the sheet. Well, last week when I was at Michael's, I saw that they now carry the double decks for $20, so I went back a few days ago, armed with a 50% off coupon, and got the Girl Friday/Everafter one for only $10! I was soooooo excited. The thing is though...when I have paper like this that I'm really loving, I can't seem to make myself do anything with it. It's just too pretty! ;)

Well today, I MADE myself get some out and start creating with it. I'm so glad I did it too because I love the layout! I used some pics of the girls playing hide & seek on a recent visit to their Nanny's house and they worked perfectly...

Supplies: Cosmo Cricket Paper - Girl Friday; Fiskars Easy Squeeze Punches - That's Amore and Round & Round; Making Memories Sanding Block; Making Memories Button; Making Memories Tiny Alphas - Chloe's Closet; EK Sucess Flower Punch
*Based on sketch #45 at 52 Sketches...52 Weeks

So if any of you are like me and find yourself hoarding your paper, STOP IT! Go make it into something beautiful. Trust me...you'll be glad you did. ;)

An awesome note: This layout was featured on Cosmo Cricket's Facebook page on 1/7/10!! How cool is that?? :)

Some recent layouts...

I had the chance to get some scrapping done over the past few days and am sooooo glad! I love my scrappy time. ;)

This first layout is about Emily. It's just one of those on-a-whim kind of pictures but she was so "adorable" that I knew I had to scrap it! I really love the color combination...

Supplies: K&Company Paper Pad - Greenhouse by Carolyn Gavin; Making Memories Sanding Block; Fiskars Border Punch - Scallop; Basic Grey Alpha Sticker Letters - Sugared (Inked); Scenic Route Chipboard Hearts (used as a template)
*Based on sketch #39 at 52 Sketches...52 Weeks

The second layout is about my sweet Maddie. She's only 9 months old (where has the time gone?!?) in this picture. She was sitting there playing with her toys one minute, and the next time I looked over, she was fast asleep! Of course I had to grab my camera before I put her in the crib, lol... ;)

Supplies: K&Company Paper Pad - Wild Raspberry; Cosmo Cricket Paper - Honey Pie; Lasting Impressions Rub-Ons
*Based on the Sept. '09 Super Sketch by Kelly Purkey seen here at Two Peas In A Bucket

This last one has both of my sweeties on it. I got some really amazing pictures of them one day when we were over at Mark's Nanny's house. She grows alot of flowers and the girls really seemed to enjoy walking around and smelling them all...

Supplies: BoBunny Paper; Colorbox Chalk Ink - Chestnut Roan

Thanks so much for looking! Have a great day...

My sweet girl! ;)

I did a layout of Madison today and I love how it turned out! A few months ago, I found this dress for her and immediately knew she'd look adorable in it. Was I right or what? ;) The color of it fits her so well!

I got this picture of her last month, and as soon as I saw it, I knew I had to scrap it. Emily had just decided to give Madison her rocking chair and she was soooo happy about it! The look on her face makes me smile every time I see it...

Supplies: Fancy Pants Sweet Spring Papers - Shelby & Title Strips; American Crafts Buttons; Scenic Route Chipboard Butterfly; Colorbox Chalk Ink - Chestnut Roan; Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint - Tattered Rose; Brown Sharpie; Making Memories Edge Distresser; SMC Floss; Making Memories Alphabet Stickers - Chloe's Closet
*Based on sketch #36 at 52 Sketches...52 Weeks

Just a note...if you've never tried Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paints, ruuuuun out and buy some!! A friend of mine sent me a jar last month and I used it on the butterfly here. I painted a pretty thick layer of the paint onto the butterfly, and then once it dried, I sanded the edges and inked it brown. I love the effect!! If you click on the picture, you can see close up how amazing it looks...

Thanks for looking. Have a blessed day! :)

Some recent creations...

I've done some scrapping this week but haven't had the time to come post about it yet. Because of that, I'll just share it all now while I've got a few minutes... ;)

This first layout is about Mark and Madison having a funny face contest. I love these pictures! I've wanted to scrap them for a while now, but trying to scrap the colors pink and red together, without the page looking too girly, is a tough job. I decided to go with these papers from K&Company, and I think it looks great!

Supplies: K&Company Paper Pad - Greenhouse; Fiskars Large Squeeze Punch - Round & Round; Colorbox Chalk Ink - Lipstick Red; Bazzill Just The Edge Strip (used as a template); Scenic Route Chipboard Heart (used as a template); Buttons; DMC Floss
*Based on sketch #34 at 52 Sketches...52 Weeks

The next layout I did has my 2 sweet girls on it. I got this picture of them taking a walk together last year and I fell in love with it. There's just something about the way they're walking along, hand in hand, that just melts me. Instead of journaling myself, I used a favorite Bible verse of mine, which is 2 Corinthians 5:7 - "For we walk by faith, not by sight." I think it fits the picture perfectly...

Supplies: K&Company Paper Pad - Life's Journey; American Crafts Buttons; Colorbox Chalk Ink - Chestnut Roan; Prima Flowers; DMC Floss
*Based on sketch #35 at 52 Sketches...52 Weeks

The last layout is one I did today, about a trip we took to Build-A-Bear back in June. My sis-in-law sent the girls some gift certificates to celebrate their cousin Marybeth's birthday (and Madison's), and they had so much fun picking out their new friends! I love how happy they look!

Supplies: K&Company Paper Pad - Wild Raspberry; Colorbox Chalk Ink - Lipstick Red; Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Tea Dye; Basic Grey Chipboard Letters; Making Memories Edge Distresser; Making Memories Sanding Block

Ok, that's it for today. Thanks for looking...I really appreciate it. :)

My "clean" girl, lol...

This layout is so funny to me. Madison is exactly like Emily has always been...happy to be as dirty as can be one minute, and then wanting to be really clean the next. I guess it's the tomboy inside fighting against their girly natures, lol...

Anyway, when I got these pictures of Madison one day, not even wanting to move because she was surrounded by mud, I knew I had to scrap them. That girl is just too cute!

Supplies: My Mind's Eye Paper - Tres Jolie; We R Memory Keepers Paper - Grandma's Kitchen; Prima Flowers; Doodlebug Loopy Lou Cardstock Alphabet Stickers - Bon Bon; Bazzill Just The Edge Cardstock Strips (used as a template)
*Based on sketch #32 at 52 Sketches...52 Weeks

That's it for now but I'm feeling scrappy so hopefully I'll have some more to share tomorrow. Have an awesome night!

I finally scrapped!

Wow, it's been a looooong time since I scrapped anything. I realized when I posted yesterday that the last post I had made was at the beginning of July, so that's the last time I made something! I was really happy to sit down today and have some time to create. :)

In the time Madison allowed me (hehe, I scrap at the computer desk and the girl is addicted to the PBS Kids website!), I was able to get a layout and a card done. In a scrapping group I'm in, we're having a challenge this month to create a card using some of your scraps each time you make a layout. It's actually a very smart idea, isn't it? That way, you don't have to store the scraps and then pull them out later on. Plus, if you use the same papers, you'll already know they match since you used them in your layout. ;)

The layout is of a picture of the girls that I took on 6/9, when we were on our way to Chuck E. Cheese to celebrate Madison's birthday. I'm guessing that's why they both look so happy! Or maybe it's just because I'm such an awesome mommy, lol? ;) I know they are ADORABLE, that's for sure!

Supplies: Fancy Pants Paper - Celebrate, Botanical & Aged Florals; Prima Flowers; Colorbox Ink; Basic Grey Chipboard Letters - Block
*Based on sketch #31 at 52 Sketches...52 Weeks

The card I made is very simple but I like the look of it. For some reason, I'm really loving pink and yellow together right now! Very summer like don't you think? ;)

Supplies: Fancy Pants Paper - Celebrate; K&Company Paper - Berry Sweet; Colorbox Ink; The Paper Studio Scallop Punch; Hero Arts Stamps - Thinking Of You

Thanks for looking at my new stuff. Have an amazing day!

She makes my heart happy... :)

I did this layout of Emily today and I adore how it turned out! I took this picture of her a couple of months ago and absolutely love how joyful she looks in it...

*Based on sketch #24 at 52 Sketches...52 Weeks

I've been wanting to scrap this for a while now but couldn't seem to find any papers I really liked to go with it. I think these were definitely a great choice though. ;)

Cute...and she knows it, lol...

I did this layout of Emily this morning and I think it turned out adorable!!

*Based on sketch #23 at 52 Sketches...52 Weeks

The look on her face is priceless...like she knows what a little cutie she is. Well, I guess she should since we tell her that all the time, lol. ;)

I used some papers from the We R Memory Keepers paper pad called Nonsense. I just love how bright and colorful they are! Perfect for summertime...

Yum - Madison's 1st shake!

Well, of course Madison has shared shakes with other people, but this was the first time she ever had her very own and let me tell you, the girl finished it in no time flat! Too cute...

*Based on sketch #2 at 52 Sketches...52 Weeks

These are the kinds of things I want to start scrapping more...the little things that you might forget later on, you know? ;)

Some layouts for Cathy...

I want to share a couple of layouts I got done for Cathy last night/this morning. They are soooo cute! ;)

The first one has a great picture on it that she took of her kids last summer. It's just amazing, isn't it? :) I loved the picture so much, I kept the layout very simple so it wouldn't take away from it...

The second page has a really awesome story behind it. Right now, my brother-in-law (Adam) is in Iraq. Before he left, they took a trip to Build-A-Bear to get some special bears for the kids. The bears all have voice boxes inside with a message from Adam to each of the kids...in his voice. How cool is that? ;) Anyway, Cathy wanted me to put the names that the kids all chose for their bears on the layout and title it "Introducing...", so that's what I did and I think it turned out great!

*Based on sketch #18 at 52 Sketches...52 Weeks

So that's it for now. I'm still trying to work on some more pages for her but Maddie seems to think it's her turn on the computer, so we'll see, lol...
