Sketches In Thyme #85

Hello there! It's time for me to share another new sketch with you from Sketches In Thyme! We've got a two-pager this week that can easily be used as is or spilt into two great sketches. I used the left side for my inspiration...

Supplies: Basic Grey Oxford Collection - Honor Roll, Finishing School, Ivy League; Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Walnut Stain; Colorbox Chalk Ink - Chestnut Roan; Studio Calico Mister Huey - Dark Calico, Classic Calico, Calico Cream; Ali Edwards Stamps - Simply You; AC/Dear Lizzy Neapolitan Roller Date Stamp; Fiskars/Jenni Bowlin Tab Punch; EK Success Embossed Curve Border Punch; Studio Calico Wood Veneers - Potty People; Doily; CK Jot Font

I kept my page simple and sweet and I really love it! I got this amazing shot of my hubby and Madison on Mother's Day and knew I wanted to scrap it all by itself. I just adore the way they're smiling and how HAPPY they both look. It really captures how awesome their personalities are. :)

Ok that's it from me for today! For some more inspiration using the sketch, pop over to the Sketches In Thyme blog to see what the other designers did with it. Also, be sure to play along with this or any of our other July sketches for a chance to win some goodies! ;) Thanks for stopping by...

Sketches In Thyme #84

Hello there everyone! I've got a brand new sketch from Sketches In Thyme to share with you today that rocks! I really like the look of this sketch because I feel you could turn it any way and still create a beautiful layout...

Supplies: My Mind's Eye Nostalgia Collection - Diamond, Chevron, Roses, Label; Tim Holts Distress Ink - Walnut Stain; Tim Holtz Distress Marker - Walnut Stain; Studio Calico Mister Huey - Dewey, Boss Lady, Pinstripe; Unity Stamp Set - Treasure To Me; Fiskars Twinkle Twinkle Punch; My Mind's Eye Nostagia Brads; Punky Sprouts Doily; My Mind's Eye Nostalgia Accessory Sheet

As you can see, I turned the sketch on it's side for my inspiration and it worked great! I took these 2 fun shots of my girls on Mother's Day and really loved how happy they look in both of them, so I decided they needed to be scrapped together. This sketch was perfect for that!

Please make sure that you head over to the Sketches In Thyme blog today and see what the other DT ladies did with this sketch...amazing I tell you! Hopefully you'll be inspired to try it yourself. :) You have until 7/31 to upload your take on this or any of this month's sketches to be entered for a yummy prize. Good luck and thanks for stopping by!

MMD Sketch #21

Good afternoon! I have a new sketch to share with you today from Miracles Momma Designs. :) This is a wonderful sketch that could be used in so many ways...

Supplies: My Mind's Eye Nostalgia Collection - Classic, Scallop, Label, Roses; My Mind's Eye Nostalgia Accessory Sheet; Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Walnut Stain; Tim Holtz Distress Marker - Walnut Stain; Ali Edwards Stamps - Love Ali, Favorite Memories; Fiskars Nice-Tri Punch; Fiskars/Jenni Bowlin Tab Punch; Fiskars Round & Round Punch; Martha Stewart Circle Cutter; Studio Calico Wood Veneer Butterfly; My Mind's Eye Nostalgia Brads; Doily; Just The Way You Are Font

When I first saw the sketch, I thought that four blocks of patterned paper would work perfectly for it, and I had these two great pictures of Emily and myself that went right along with that idea. We were hanging out at my hubby's Nanny's house one day and she came over and snuggled up to me on the couch (which doesn't happen very often, so I was LOVING it!) and I made sure to snap some shots of us together. I knew I wanted to scrap them because I realized recently that I don't have enough pictures of myself in our scrapbooks. It's kind of hard to get in there more though when I'm always the one behind the camera, lol! I'm sure many of you understand that right? I've decided to really try and change that though, so I've made a promise to try and scrap myself more. This is a great start for that. ;)

Make sure you head over to Heather's blog post today and see what the other DT members did with the sketch (there are some fabulous pages!), and thanks for stopping by!

I forgot to share my news!!

Things have been absolutely CRAZY for us around here for the last week. To make a reallllllly long story short, our AC stopped working, it got to 98 IN the house (talk about HOT), we ended up having to stay in a hotel for 3 nights and at my sister's house for another one, and we finally got it fixed on Tuesday. Since then, I've been trying to get the house back in order and catch up on all the laundry. Fun, right?? ;)

So anyway, I have some exciting news to share with you all that I completely forgot about with everything happening...

I'm now on the DT over at Scrap It Girl!!

Kimberly Congdon is the owner and I'm super excited that she's invited me to be a part of her team! ;) My first challenge will be in August so keep an eye out...

Moments To Celebrate

Hi there my friends...I'm baaaaaaack!! ;) I decided to get crafty after all today and created this layout for my sister...

Supplies: Basic Grey Konnichiwa Collection - Lucky Cricket, Good Afternoon, Jiko, Pagoda; Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Walnut Stain; Ali Edwards Stamp Set - It's In The Details, The Family Circle; Fiskars Flit On By Punch; Basic Grey Button; Twine; CK Alis Hand Font

I've already scrapped these pictures for myself (here), but when I posted my page, my sister got all excited and said she wanted one too! I used the same collection for her page but went with a different design and took my inspiration from the latest Basic Grey sketch (which totally rocks). I really like how it turned out and hopefully she will too! ;)

Thanks for stopping by again today...I love my visitors!

MMD Sketch #20

Good morning my friends! I have a FABULOUS sketch from Miracles Momma Designs to share with you today that I adore. Heather really hit it out of the park with this one!!

Supplies: Studio Calico Take Note Collection - Protractor; Crate Paper Paper Heart Collection - Love Letter, Cupid, Define, Delicate; Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Walnut Stain; ColorBox Chalk Ink - Gray Whale; Studio Calico Mister Huey - Clay; Studio Calico Stamp Set - Heyday Thoughts; Ali Edwards Stamp Set - Simple Joy; Technique Tuesday Stamp Set - Good Times; EK Success Embossed Curve Border Punch; EK Success Scalloped Circle Punch; Fiskars Circle Punch; Stampin' Up! Heart-to-Heart Punch; Martha Stewart Large Circle Cutter; AC/Amy Tangerine Thickers - Goodness; Throw My Hands Up In The Air Computer Font

Seriously, could the sketch rock any more? ;) As soon as I saw the sun on it, I knew I wanted to use this amazing sheet of Studio Calico paper as my background. I've been hoarding...errrrr, saving it for a really long time and this turned out to be the perfect time to use it! I cut out every other set of rays and backed them with different patterned papers. I've seen a few different scrappers do this (one of my favorites being Sophie Crespy...you can see her page here), and have wanted to try it for myself for a while now. It's definitely a cool technique that I plan on trying again!

I am so in love with how this page turned out! The picture is SO precious to me because it's the very first time I held my daughter Emily. I had a C-section so I only got to look at her in the operating room and then it seemed like FOREVER before I finally had her in my arms! I will never forget that moment, and I'm so thankful to have this sweet photo that's now a beautiful layout that captures it for me.

Make sure you drop by Heather's blog and check out what the other DT members made...awesome I tell ya!

Thanks for taking a minute to stop by for a visit today! I may be back later if I get crafty...there are a few challenges ending today that I wanted to try so we'll see. ;)

Sketches In Thyme #82

Good morning!! I have a new sketch from Sketches In Thyme to share with you today and I'm betting you'll love it...

Supplies: Pink Paislee Prairie Hill Collection - Spool, Country Meadow, Sun Spot; Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Walnut Stain; Studio Calico Mister Huey - Classic Calico, Custard, Overdue; AC/Dear Lizzy Neapolitan Roller Date Stamp; EK Success PSN L Butterfly Punch; Fiskars/Jenni Bowlin Tab Punch; K&Company Handmade Chipboard Alphabet; Making Memories Button; Twine; Just Act Casual Font

Can you see all the amazing ways you can use this and make it your own? It rocks! I decided to take my inspiration from the left side of the sketch for this page about my daughter Emily. This is a girl who is NEVER quiet and who doesn't like the quiet in any way, so this shot of her just sitting and enjoying nature really touched me. I absolutely adore her. :)

Be sure to take a minute and head over to the Sketches In Thyme blog to see what the other DT ladies made...you'll see some amazing work! Thanks for stopping by today...
